Here is a Q and A with what Muhammad Timbo, 20, computer science major, talking about what he likes to do in his free time either in or out of school.
Q: What do you like to do in your free time away from class or school? A: Timbo said that he likes to play video games, go out sometimes and go to a friend’s house.
Q: What kind of video games do you play at your friends house? A: Timbo said he likes playing fighting games, shooting games, sometimes 3-D games adventure games like “Sonic the Hedgehog,” “Naruto,” “Call of Duty,” and “Gears of War.”
Q: Would you rather have fun at school or outside of school? A: Timbo said that he likes having fun outside of school because it keeps him away from home.
Q: Why don’t you like having fun at home? A: “Because I get bored all by myself and I can’t have my friends over unless my mom meets their parents.”
Q: How do you balance your school schedule and your free time? A: “I just mostly go with the flow mostly. I usually just do my homework first then if I have time I just play video games and if not I just go to sleep.”
Q: Do you spend you have anyone to spend your free time with? A: Timbo said sometimes if my friends are not busy.
Q: Do you usually spend your free time alone or with other people? A: Timbo said he mostly likes being alone unless he’s at home.
Q: When you’re all alone do you want to see your friends? A: “Sometimes, like if I’m playing a game and I get bored. I want to see my friends and call them if they want to come over.”
Joseline Galvan, 21, liberal studies major, describes what she like to do in her free time away from school

Here is a Q and A with Joseline Galvan, 21, liberal studies major talking about what she likes to do in her free time.
Q: What do you like to do in your free time away from class or school? A: Galvan said that she likes to be on her phone playing mental games or just read the bible.
Q: What kind of games? A: Galvan likes playing games like Word Search or mental games like chess.
Q: Do you have fun with anyone in your free time? A: Galvan said she doesn’t like to hang out with anyone physically but does like chatting with someone on the phone.
Q: What’s your most favorite activity to do in your free time? A: “My most favorite activity to do on my free time is just word search or listening to music.”
Q: Do you have any hobbies that interest you in your free time? A: Galvan said that she has no hobbies but likes to figure things out on her free time.
Q: What do you like to figure out other than words? A: “I like watching forensics. I like just watching on how they open up the bodies and figuring out how the body works and the cause of death.”
Q: Do you go to any good places in your free time? A: “I like going to the arcades, museums like the body exhibition museums and wherever there is a chess game.”
Q: Do you spend more time doing fun things or do you concentrate more on school? A: Galvan said that she would rather do fun things rather than school work. “To me fun is doing things that I like to do like play online games. I prefer being at church than being at school and I prefer shows than doing school work.”
Q: What kind of shows and video games do you like? A: Galvan said that she likes video games like Grand Theft Auto, likes Korean, Japanese and Chinese dramas that are mostly about crime that have mostly something to do with medical or forensics. She even likes American shows like Criminal Minds and NCIS.
Here is a Q and A with Rebecca Acosta, 24, arts major and what she has to say about her free time by being an artist and drawing.
Q: What do you like to do on your free time from class or school?
A: “Most of the time I like to just draw because my major is art and I like to do like cartoons and illustrations and stuff like that and that’s basically what I like to do like to do is just to draw.”
Q: What do you like to draw?
A: “Mostly like cartoons like superheroes like Batman, Superman or anime, I love anime so that I can relate more to anime because it really got me to really get into my field and progress more into illustration in the future.”
Q: What anime do you draw?
A: “The anime I draw the most are mostly female characters, Naruto, and fairy tale and just the popular ones mostly.”
Q: How do you spend your free time daily? A
A: “Not as often as I would hope because I’m full time at work and also at school. So on my down times on the weekends I grab a sketch book start sketching ideas. Maybe like just like practicing more of the things that I’m having difficulties with sometimes like drawing hands those are the worse for me to draw so I practice sketching hands, feet, practicing more facial features any profiling I can do and that’s how I basically spend my free time.”
Q: Is what you do academic or fun on your free time?
A: “For me it’s not really academic actually I would say both as for me I’m learning more techniques. As I’m researching how to do certain positions, motions or like I’m starting to learn how to do some coloring with markers like the prisma color markers to give them more detail and more highlights and to colors and to stuff like that and shading and I’m learning more techniques and it’s fun for me. I’m learning all these techniques and it really gets me into the zone and to really draw.”
Q: Do you ever party on your free time?
A: “No I don’t. I’m not that kind of person that doesn’t like to have fun like that. I’m more like a home body person that likes to stay home and be with my family and just be with myself and my family and that’s it. I really don’t like to go out.”
Q: Do you socialize with anybody on your free time?
A: “Not really. I don’t really like to talk to others. I just mostly like to talk to sisters or family members or friends from high school. I’m not much of a social person.”
Q: Do you collect anything as a hobby?
A: “Not really I’m not a collector either. I was at first on trading cards. I use to collect “Pokemon,” Cards. But as I grew up I didn’t have an interest in them because why collect them if you’re not going to use them. And I didn’t know how to play them so I don’t have a thing to collect really except drawings.”
Q: What kind of drawings do you collect?
A: “Fan art like from anime like from “Bleach,” or my favorite characters from like fairy tales. Like from the new series that are coming up, I’m just going to collect more of the favorite characters and genres like that.”
Q: What favorite characters do you like from anime?
A: “From the new recent anime “Yuri on Ice,” I love Yuri Katsuki and Victor Nikiforov as my favorite characters.”
Here is a Q and A with Jacob Dominguez, 18, art major with what he does with his favorite activities.
Q: What do you like to do on your free time from class or school?
A: “Basically enjoy my life as much as I can do activities that I love doing with a passion. Yeah just live your life to the fullest.” Like how? “Like going out with your friends doing stuff you love like for me its art and music,” Dominguez said
Q: Do you do any activities on your free time?
A: “Yeah just partying, sports just hanging out nothing unique,” Dominguez said
Q: Do you consider your free time fun? Why?
A: “Yes I consider it fun because I’m enjoying myself while I’m out you know that it’s memories that I’ll live with and I’m happy that I did that instead of doing the most common thing like I guess staying at home and be on the internet but no I’d rather just go out and enjoy my life,” Dominguez said
Q: Who is your favorite person to hang with on your free time?
A: “I can’t just single it down to one person because theirs multiple so I’d probably have to say like all my friends I can’t choose one it’s not like that,” Dominguez said.
Q: Out of all the activities what’s your most favorite over all? Why?
A: “My favorite would be just hanging out with my friends because you either end up in bed or amazing situations together either you have a video of it or in your mind it’s pretty dope like snap chat they caught the moment and it was funny or something crazy either or it’s just memories of something I will cherish when I’m older just do it while you can,” Dominguez said.
Q: What’s your favorite memory?
A: “One of them would be when we were at the beach and a bunch of us just hanging out over there and my friend we told him to watch the cooler but he ended up drinking everything in there so we ended watching him try to climb up the hill where everyone so the whole beach stopped and watched him like everything was cheering him on where everyone was like oh! oh! and he’s like falling back of the hill we’re just like what the heck and everyone literally just stopped and watched him and he finally fell down the hill and it was one of the most funniest moments,” Dominguez said.
Derek Rabot, 20, biology major explains what he does on his free time in school and out of school.
Here is a Q and A about what Derek Rabot, 20, biology major explaining what he likes to do on his free time in school and away from school.
Q: What do you like doing on your free time as a student away from school?
A: “Most of the time I like mostly reading my text books just studying for future exams or I just go exercising for bit at LA Fitness,” Rabot said.
Q: How much fun is that activity or activities that you like to do?
A: “I enjoy working out a lot. Fitness and sports has always been my thing, so it fits me perfectly for high school years I’ve been playing rugby and I don’t have the time for it now so I just exercise,” Rabot said.
Q: Would you rather have fun in school or outside of school?
A: “Outside of school, I’m more of an active person with sports and such, by exercising and hiking every other weekend,” Rabot said.
Q: Do you hang out with friends during your free time? Why?
A: “Yeah we usually just hang out at one of these lunch tables and just talk before our classes by the campus deli,” Rabot said.
Q: Where do you and your friends usually hang out on your free time?
A: “We kind of live far from each other but we watch movies at the Del Amo Mall,” Rabot said.
Q: How would you rate the activity on a scale of 1-10 that you do best in and why?
A: “I think exercising and doing anything active would be maybe be a 6 or 7 out of 10 just because I do what I want to do it’s not I like it that’s mostly it, I like being active [that] is my thing and I like to keep fit,” Rabot said.
“With all the responsibilities and requirements of being a student it is nice to have a break every now and then and spending your free time doing what you enjoy. For one thing I enjoy reading when I’m home because it is a good way to pass the time. and I writing if I’m at school because writing let’s me be creative after a bunch of school work and it’s a good stress relief. I also like playing “Yu-Gi-Oh!” with my friends and video games as well. I mostly like classic games like “Super Mario Bros.,” and “Mega Man,” and “Pac Man.” Those classics are what I like. When on campus I like to hang out at ASB (Auxiliary Services Benefits) Building to meet up with other people. And when I’m off campus I like to hang out at “Murillo Digital System,” to be with others who share my hobbies. When I’m writing I like to hang out at “Starbucks,” because it’s nice and quiet and away from it all. On school day’s I’m not working I usually get about five hours of free time.The internet can be distracting but spending time with people is time well spent.”
